Job Description

Title:  Accountant

Location:  Charlottesville, VA 

Schedule:  Hybrid in-person and remote 

Status:  Full-time

Base Compensation: $62k - $78k per year

Forward Financial Intelligence empowers local businesses and nonprofits by strengthening financial operations and distilling better intelligence from financial data. We are seeking an enthusiastic Accountant to join our team!

This financial accounting professional should have strong controlling instincts and will be responsible for reviewing and accounting for client business transaction activity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing client A/P, A/R, & payroll accounting

  • Overseeing client revenue accounting

  • Compiling and interpreting client financial reports

  • Reconciling and reviewing accounts

  • Documenting processes and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in accounting

  • At least one year of professional accounting experience

  • Experience with Accounting software

  • Love of Balance Sheets

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace

  • Outstanding spreadsheet skills or a desire to develop strong spreadsheet skills

Additionally, a pragmatic business sense and a passion to serve our local business community will be essential.  As such, while this work will be hybrid and leaning towards mostly remote, you must be local to the Charlottesville area.
